Our Two Natures

Our Two Natures

Each born-again person possesses two natures. The first called "the flesh," it's the sinful nature that we receive at our natural birth. This nature is unchanging in its enmity to God, & incapable of pleasing God. (Romans 8:7-9). It's the origin of our evil desires, & responds to every temptation if we allow it to do so. (James 1:13-15) This nature will never go away, it remains our whole lifetime on earth.

Our second nature, is called our "Divine nature," received when we accepted Christ as our Savior & Lord. (2 Peter 1:3; Romans 8:9) This new nature is incapable of sin & leads us to think, say & do those things that are pleasing to God. (Gal. 5:16-26. We have been made partakers of the "Divine nature" (2 Peter 1:4).

In every believer dwells these two natures, one sinful & one incapable of sin that always pleasing to God. (Gal. 5:17) It all depends on the believer on which one will in control.
(Romans 6:6; 6:11; 8:12; 13:14; Col. 3:5.)

Our new nature, must be encouraged & strengthened by feeding on the Word of God. Communing with God in prayer, obeying God's will & by separating oneself from all known sin.
This is what we call "walking in the spirit". This is how the Christian keeps us from the lust of the flesh. (Gal. 5:16)

An Indian Chief & friend of my said this to me a long time ago, & this was what he said: " I have two dog's inside of me, one of them is a very mean dog & one that is a very good dog. The one that I feed is the one that will rule the day.

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, & is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16) In Psalms 19:7 it is said "the law of the Lord is perfect.

The Bible is
1.Perfect in its origination
2.Perfect in its communication
3.Perfect in its revelation
4.Perfect in its preservation

When people decide to follow Jesus Christ, they experience an “extreme makeover” because they invite the Holy Spirit to change their thoughts, actions, and attitudes. Galatians 6:15b says, “What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation.”

The walk of faith should be a radical conversion process, where believers are being molded into the image of Christ. Learn how to bring God’s trans-formative power into your life and into the lives of new believers.
